Reinvented Elegance - from Artist Joyce Wagner
My mission is to create things that will make people smile and bring them joy. Reinvented Elegance features wire-wrapped jewelry, mosaics, and pressed flower art. I’ve loved to make things since I was little. In fact, grouting mosaics reminds me of making mud pies many years ago in my side yard. To the complete horror of a few girly-girls in my neighborhood, I then proceeded to decorate them with Dogwood berries and sun-bake them on my aluminum slide! Today I’m inspired by my terrific family (husband, five kids, and three cats); my many talented artist friends; anything funny; the gift of nature; recycling bins; and beautiful Old Town, Alexandria, VA (not necessarily in that order). In making jewelry and accessories, I love to throw odd materials and colors together with pressed flowers, a myriad of recycled items, and twists of wire and see what happens! I also love the look of crocheted jewelry pieces, somehow at once Victorian and edgy. (Jewelry: earrings to necklaces, and everything in-between. Accessories: key chains, bookmarks, cell phone charms.) In creating mosaics, I get tremendous satisfaction from finding discarded or thrift store materials and breathing new life into them. I also love the idea that an odd assemblage of materials can somehow be greater than its individual parts. (Mosaic products: mirror frames, gazing orbs, tables.) In creating with pressed flowers and leaves, I never cease to marvel at Nature’s beauty and what a wonderful gift it is to each of us. (Pressed flower products: jumbo refrigerator magnets, greeting cards, lampshades.)

Skrib Art - Abstract Modern Contemporary Art by Juvale
Art has been a part of my life since I was a young girl. As a child, I enjoyed sketching, drawing, and creating artistic projects for school. Art became a hobby of mine; it was my outlet for expression and my opportunity to illustrate creative ideas. In my early years of college, I attended Towson State University and majored in Early Childhood Education. I later pursued my desire to study Photography and Web Design at the College of Southern Maryland. My heart has always been with children. I have always wanted to be a Teacher. I recently decided to go after my dream and started in Home Daycare. I am a full time Mom, blessed with 3 precious girls. They are truly my inspiration in life. They drive me to push for what I want out of life and most of all give me the strength I need to move forward. It brings a smile to my face to watch my two older girls draw or paint. They are very involved in my art and love to mimic my work. They are both so creative and have their own sense of style. My youngest pulls out her art supplies when she knows I am preparing to paint. I see a lot of myself in my children and I am anxious to see where their talents may lead them one day. For several years now, I have designed artwork on canvas to accessorize rooms in my home. My friends and family have asked me to create and custom design paintings for them to coordinate with their specific decor. They have all been very pleased with my work. I hope to take this hobby to a whole new level and will continue to be grateful to be blessed with this given talent.

Stephanie Garrison Glass - Original Handcrafted Fused Glass Art
Stephanie Garrison is a glass artist who has studied fused glass at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts. While attending the University of Maryland, she studied textile design and graduated with a degree in textile marketing. With little formal art education, Stephanie's heart and soul has always revolved around the arts and crafts. Her love for different art mediums led her to explore fused glass. She was fascinated by the inherent beauty, depth, and color of glass and how a material so rigid could melt and be transformed into different shapes. Working with fused glass has created endless possibilities for Stephanie's creative quest.
